Epson Troubleshooting Steps

I've got a Mac OS X using 10.6.5 version software. The Guttenberg (excuse spelling) driver works, but the printing of the image has flaws. I would like to get the Epsom driver working on the Mac. The Epsom program is the most recent easy print 2009, and after setup, it was readily available for selection in the list of available printers and seemed to install okay.

I've tried reinstalling, rebooting and also have followed closely Epson troubleshooting Steps, such as resetting the printers and fixing permissions. If I click “options supplies" about the “printers and faxes window" then “utility" and then “open printer utility" it tells me that Epson printer utility 4 can't be executed or the printer isn't registered with this software and cannot operate properly utilizing the current connections. Is there somewhere else on the computer where I must let it use the USB to publish, or do I have to register it with the pc or with Epson? Please help.

The first troubleshooting step is to spot in which the paper jam is located.

Figure out from where you're in a position to access the jammed paper. Catch the jammed paper with both hands and pull it from this Epson printer. In case your Epson printer includes a scanner, raise it and pull out the jammed paper. Detach the Epson printer cassettes and pull the jammed paper in the cassette slots.

Pinch the jam clear cover's tabs and lower the lid. While removing the jammed paper in the jammed slot that is clear, be careful not to touch the paper rollers. Detach the Epson printer duplexer unit. Inspect the part carefully and pull the jammed paper out there too. Sometimes, the paper gets stuck in the Epson printer's ADF. In these instances, halt the print job first. Open the machine's ADF lid and then pull out the jammed paper. Check the scanner cover for almost any jammed paper. If found, remove them carefully. Open the ADF input tray and pull out the jammed paper. Make sure you close all the lids and then check if the Epson machine displays any paper jam error codes.
